Special Needs Alliance
In Christenson Johnson’s continuing observance of Special Needs Law Month, we would be remiss if we did not highlight an outstanding organization and resource for individuals and families.
The Special Needs Alliance is a wonderful and extensive resource for anyone who has a family member with special needs and the professionals who advise and assist them. Attorney Barbara Hughes is one of just three Wisconsin attorneys in this invitation-only organization of Special Needs Law attorneys, and she has been active in writing and editing Special Needs Alliance publications and in promoting its outreach.
The following topics are just a few of the resources available from the Special Needs Alliance:
- Essential information about the Special Needs Alliance and its members, including practice areas, services, mission, and history.
- The Voice (the Special Needs Alliance’s newsletter), with in-depth single-topic issues several times a year. Recent topics included SSI rules for students, political advocacy by parents, and income taxes as they related to special needs.
- Information and publications for families and individuals with special needs.
- A national directory of Special Needs Alliance members to help you find a member attorney for any state.
Check out the helpful information on the Special Needs Alliance website, sign up for a free subscription to The Voice, and contact an attorney at Christenson Johnson to learn more about the various options for special needs planning for individuals and families.
